CNN’s Carol Costello Gets Shut Down

He did an excellent job handling her inane questions. She made heavy use of the journalistic phrase “some people” when she really meant “I”. “Some people” might be offended by this or that and “some people” might think something else is extreme. There is always someone who might not like anything you do, so that’s really not an argument. If you can’t come up with any more substantial argument than someone might find it offensive, you might as well just keep it to yourself.
Towards the end where she is incredulous about how you can have God and guns in a motto, and asks if Jesus would carry a gun, he correctly points out that while guns didn’t exist then, Jesus did advocate carrying a sword. He didn’t have the exact quote, but in case you’re interested, it’s in Luke 22:36: “if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.“. Catholicism and all but a few completely pacifist protestant denominations have always accepted the right to defend yourself from attack.
