A Proud Day

Among all the recent hijackings occurring off the Somali coast, the first time an American flagged ship is hijacked, the American crew regains control shortly thereafter and places at least one of the hijackers in custody. The others made it overboard, apparently.

American crew members aboard a U.S.-flagged ship have regained control of the vessel hijacked by pirates off the coast of Somalia Wednesday, FOX News confirms.

Of course, it would have been more satisfying to see them just blow the pirate ship out of the water when it tried to assault the American ship, but this is a great outcome. These guys deserve a serious bonus in this month’s paycheck!

UPDATE: AP says the hijackers still have the ship’s captain.
