A National Shooting Team member, after training at the Coast Guard Academy, was arrested at a New York City airport by a transit authority officer. This was despite the fact that he had his weapon properly stored for interstate travel in accordance with FOPA (the Firearms Owners Protection Act of 1986). Bloomberg wants New York to host the Olympics, yet he has his officers arresting our young team members. Perhaps he doesn’t realize there are shooting sports in both the summer and winter games, or perhaps he’s looking forward to arresting competitors from all over the world. What amazes me is how these officials, from New York to Philadelphia to Atlanta, who operate in direct violation of state and federal gun laws, can then expect their residents to obey the law.
You can read more at Gun Talk, written by the President of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, though right now I’ve asked for more clarification on the source of the information. H/T: Conservative Scalawag.
