Last summer I posted a short piece about a Norman Podhoretz Commentary Magazine examination and description of the Bush Doctrine. While the polls say many Americans are fed up with the situation in Iraq, I am convinced President Bush’s aims are as valid and important as ever. Today, Mr. Podhoretz writes another essay (cross-posted at OpinionJournal) extending the earlier analysis and making “The Case for Bombing Iran.”
As it typical with a Podhoretz essay, it is difficult to find short passages to quote, because he very methodically builds his case and it’s difficult to yank a bit out of the middle without the buildup, and there are so many great passages that it’s hard to pick just one or two. I encourage you all to read it.(cache)
