Shot Show Rules?

I was going to make the trip down to Orlando for Shot Show this year but decided not to when I read this in the Attendee Rules:

For attendee and exhibitor safety, no personal firearms and/or ammunition is allowed.

Now what sort of foolishness is this? The largest trade show for the shooting industry is afraid of citizens carrying personal weapons?

In a hall filled with people who manufacture and sell arms and related equipment, one might expect that that the person who does not carry his own weapon would be in the minority, and certainly it would be reasonable to think that those present would be comfortable with weapons even if they choose not to carry themselves.

Unfortunately, it seems that Shot Show is not particularly supportive of our right to carry. If you can wrap your mind around that concept without getting a headache you are more imaginative than I am.
