Because They Could

Three super athletes have completed a task not many other would attempt- let alone finish. Charlie Engle (USA), Ray Zahab (Canada), and Kevin Lin (Taiwan) ran 4000 miles across the Sahara Desert in 111 days. The journey took the athletes through 6 countries- Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya and finally Egypt where they finished this past Tuesday (Feb 20th, 2007) at the mouth of the Suez canal. The run was accompanied by a documentary film crew from which the production “Running the Sahara” will be aired.
