World’s Strongest Diesel

Wärtsilä of Finland offers the RT-flex96C and RTA96C series of primary motive power diesels for marine applications. These are currently the most powerful diesel engines made. They are also surprisingly efficient, burning just 0.278 lbs per hp per hour at max power while achieving more than 50% thermal efficiency. In the 14 cylinder version these engine produce 108,920 hp/80,080 kW and 5,608,312 lb/ft of torque at 102rpm.
