I ran across this article on CNN Money. Number 2 was “Slow Drivers in the fast lane,” which is one of my big ones. I noticed that the next two were probably given by the slow drivers in the fast lane: #3, “Pushy drivers who tailgate,” and #4, “Drivers who weave through traffic.” Hey, folks, if you’d get out of the left lane, we wouldn’t have to roll right up behind you. And if you’d at least get over then, we wouldn’t have to weave through traffic to get around you! Also eliminated would be #7, “Road Rage.” If you’d just get out of the left lane, you wouldn’t be mad at us for tailgating and weaving to get around you, and we wouldn’t be mad because you’re blocking our way! Plus, #5 would probably be reduced quite a lot: “Obnoxious drivers who speed up to keep you from changing lanes.” If the slow pokes would stay out, or at least get out of the left lane, there’d be a lot less weaving to get around them, and therefore fewer instances where someone has the opportunity to keep you from changing lanes.
So, if slow drivers would stay out of the left lane, five of the ten most annoying driving habits would be eliminated or at least greatly ameliorated!
