First we noted the squirrel attacks in Florida, Next we noted the racoons taking over Olympia, Washington. Now the squirrels are at it again, this time in Mountain View, CA! (NBC11) This time a squirrel actually attacked a 4-year-old child and there have been 6 incidents since May.
Hat tip to Michael Bane’s blog. Check it out–he has some good stuff there, including this quote from the late, great Col. Cooper.
I wrote here about how these stories scare me: how are we to convince the terrorists we have the will to defeat them if we’re scared of rodents? At least in this case, the city is killing the little pests instead of neutering them or giving them contraceptives?! And, at the current time, the poll on the NBC11.com site by the story says 71% of the respondents think that’s just fine.
Update: A blog dedicated to When Squirrels Attack! ;-)
The article contains this bit of fluff:
This person has never been to my house. I have always shot the squirrels who come in too close to the house. As a result, the tree-rats here stay out about 30 yards and I have rat free attics.
