The EU overlords are advising Poland not to hold a referendum on adoption of the euro. They feel that if the Pols are allowed to vote they may vote the wrong way:
“Given the recent experience in France and the Netherlands concerning referendums, we would not advise anyone to organise one,” said a commission official.
I suppose they are right. Holding the referendum is an unnecessary waste of resources given that the government intends to have it’s way regardless of the outcome.
