George Allen, the outgoing Senator from Virginia, has (as promised) introduced a bill called, “S 4057, the National Park Second Amendment Restoration and Personal Protection Act of 2006,” which will allow gun owners to carry in a National Park as long as the state where the National Park is located allows carry in parks!
Concealed carry permit holders have proven themselves to be among the most lawful of citizens. There is no reason we should be disarmed to enter a National Park. Some “parks,” such as the King Center in Atlanta include regular city streets. You could be driving or walking down the street and suddenly find yourself passing through a National Park.
