Private Menchaca, whose remains arrived home on 27 June, was one of the two soldiers who were abducted, brutally tortured, mutilated, and beheaded before being rigged with explosives and left on a roadside on 19 June. Private Thomas Tucker, who shared Menchaca’s fate, whill arrive home on Monday. I did not post an item on their treatment at the hands of our barbaric enemies at the time because I did not feel that I could adequately describe what I felt at the time. I still don’t think I can, but I must at least acknowledge their return.
There is not nearly enough outrage over this incident, here at home or abroad.
Thank you both. I will remember.
